Chan Tea blossomed in the holy land-Bodhgaya

-The series report of Chan Tea's journey to India in the winter of 2017; part one

2017年12月12日，博山正觉寺禅修茶道的禅茶师们再次来到印度，开启2017冬季禅茶文化交流之旅。本次活动的第一站，是位于印度北部比哈尔邦的释迦牟尼佛成道地——菩提迦耶。

Chan Tea artists of Boshan Zhengjue Monastery came to India again on December 12th. To start the journey of exchanging the culture of Chan and Tea in the winter of 2017. The first station was Bodhgaya, in Bihar of northern India, which was the place where the Sakyamuni Buddha obtained the enlightenment.

两千五百多年前，古代中印度迦毗罗卫国的悉达多太子经过六年苦行，沿尼连河而上，来到菩提迦耶，在毕钵罗树下入甚深禅定，睹明星而彻悟世出世间的一切真理，圆满成就佛道。从此，悉达多太子被尊称为释迦牟尼佛，他禅坐之处和那棵为他遮风挡雨的大树，亦被尊为“金刚座”和“摩诃菩提树”。公元前三世纪大兴佛法的阿育王在此建立了寺院，经过后人不断完善，成为现在宏伟壮观、庄严肃穆的摩诃菩提寺（又译大菩提寺、大觉寺）。

More than 2500 years ago, the Prince Siddartha of Kapilavastu in ancient India had practiced asceticism for six years. Then he came to Bodhgaya along the Phalgu River and reached the deep Samadhi under the Bodhi tree. He fully realized the whole truth of the mundane and supramundane world, became enlightened upon seeing a bright star. Since then, Prince Siddhartha had been revered as Shakyamuni Buddha. His meditation place and the tree that sheltered him are honored as " Vajia-āsana" and "Maha bodhi tree". In the third century BC, Ashoka spread the Dharma widely. He built monasteries here. Then the monasteries had been continuously consummated and became the Magnificent, solemn Mahabodhi Temple, also known as the Great Buddha Temple, Great Temple).

今日的菩提迦耶，不仅是全世界佛弟子朝圣的心灵家园，亦是世界著名的旅游观光胜地，每天都接待着络绎不绝的各方来客。

Today, the Bodhgaya is not only the spiritual home of pilgrims around the world, but also a world-famous tourist attraction. There are many visitors from all over the world every day.

摩诃菩提寺前的广场上，来自遥远东方的中国禅茶师们洗杯烫盏、投茶赏茶，为大家奉上精美典雅的中华禅茶艺术。

The Chinese Chan Tea artists coming from the far east cleaned the teacups to remove the Dust in the Mind, appreciated the tea leaves as much as Kashyapa appreciating the flower at the square in front of Mahabodhi temple. They offered the beautiful and elegant Chinese art of Chan and Tea art for everyone.
